Monitis' website monitoring service checks your web servers from worldwide locations and alerts you instantly via email, SMS, voice call or instant messengers when they become unavailable or slow.
All it takes is a 10 second signup and entering your IP address or URL to monitor your website and server 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
In addition to pinging and sending HTTP and HTTPs requests to your websites, Monitis also allows you to monitor email servers (using IMAP, SMTP, POP3 protocols), SOAP and REST web services, MySQL database servers, SSL Certificates, DNS name servers, FTP servers, SIP voice-over-ip devices and any network device using TCP, UDP, and SSH.
After logging into Monitis select the External Monitoring option and the just follow the setup wizard. Even non-technical users can set up a monitor in a minutes as you can see in the video.
There are many power options. For example, in the HTTP monitoring dialog you can enable content matching, which searches for a given text in your website’s response. Monitis offers 14 (and soon 16) global locations from which you can monitor the status of your website or server from the end-user's point of view. Select the monitoring locations and frequency.
You'll have the option of setting notification rules. These will send you alerts when your website goes down or the response time is bellow a certain threshold. You can create an escalation path for lingering issues.
